Joseph Rodriguez is a 23-year-old speech communication major and hope to one-day work in sports media. Rodriguez’s passion has been sports since he was a young child playing tee ball in Little League. Growing up all of the best events and best people were centered around sports, and because of that he decided that he wanted to be around sports for the rest of his life.
Because of this Rodriguez has been very active at his school, St. Mary’s University, when it comes to the athletic department. He worked as the Sport’s Editor at the local school newspaper, The Rattler, during his freshman year. This job gave him his first experience in the sports field and skills that such as writing, photography, editing and managing that he still uses today. During Rodriguez’s second semester of his freshman year he also made contact with the Rattler Network, and started to work for them as a color commentator for the women and men’s basketball teams. In that same semester Rodriguez worked his way to being the lead broadcaster for the nationally ranked baseball team.
After Rodriguez’s freshman year he decided with a heavy heart to conclude his time at The Rattler. He chose to continue his time fully with the Rattler Network because he one day dreams to be a broadcaster or a radio talk show host.
